Site Testing
- June 8, 2025: Pre-Phase testing
Replaced all AI art with stock photos and released for initial site testing. Early feedback included the following:
- Initial confusion with the Site Login button taking the viewer off the page without explaining registration.
- The restricted content on the menu just adds to the confusion.
- The constraints of using the restricted pages along with common webpage practices made some redundancy in pages. My first iteration had “restricted content” in the top menu, so placing the restricted pages lower in the tree gave it a better appearance. It may be easier to remove the restricted content altogether.
Phase 1 Testing: Intuitiveness and Layout.
- Suggestion that the three sphere diagram should be at the top of the page.
- Too much text. Limit to primary information. Move all definitions and explanations to FAQ page.
- Registration is just too confusing. Remove the registration feature, database, 6 membership pages, and restrictions.
- Too much graphics, and cactus isn’t relevant.
- Capitalization of SETAG may make it appear to be an abbreviation, switch title to Setag.
Replace registration with simple reCAPTCHA for SPAM and bot mitigation.
Website Remediation:
- Made recommended changes, including removing the member database, signup, sign-in, log-off, and account pages. From 22 menu pages to 13 pages. Replaced contact page with support page, renaming contact form to “contact,” and creating a glossary of terms.
- Removed individual FAQ from each service page, and added content to Help/FAQ or Glossary of terms in Support.
- Removed “Services” page and listed each service division on the main menu. Each page has been reduced down to just primary information.
- Several floating pages exist, but are not directly accessible from the main menu, this page included.
- Removed the cactus, and many of the photos.
